Funerals

You should initially make contact with your chosen Funeral Director. Generally they will look after the arrangements with the church and clergy. The clergy of St John’s are available to take funerals at either the Church or the Crematorium for people who have lived in the Parish.

There are standard fees set by the Church of England and Parochial Church Council for funerals. These are normally paid through the funeral director.

The church yard is closed to new burials except where arrangements have already been agreed to reserve a plot. The garden of remembrance for the internment of ashes is open.

There is a cemetary belonging to the civil parish to the west of the church yard, by the boundary with the school playground. The current civil parish cemetary is on Belton Lane, on the left hand side opposite the Memorial Hall.
